1972 Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty

Here is a 1972 Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty serial # 904034. The guitar plays and sounds fantastic. It has the original black finish, original Black Pat # Sticker “T” Top Pickups with M8 rings, original pots that read 1377142 70-027, original black Sprague caps, original brass saddle ABR Tune-O-Matic bridge, original pickguard & bracket, original jack, original waffle back tuners, original engraved truss rod cover, original back plates, original knobs & pointers, original strap buttons and original gold lined rectangle case (handle missing - but all the hinges and latches work great). The guitar has been refretted with current sized Gibson Les Paul frets. The neck is straight with a nut measurement of 5/16" and a medium profile. The neck pickup M8 ring has a crack on the side but it is intact and functional. The pickup covers were removed and are not included with the guitar (they are long gone unfortunately). There are 2 original round black goof rings under the tailpiece posts. There was a sticker on the back of the guitar at one point, no finish damage but you can see a ring where the sticker was if you angle the guitar just right in the light (no big deal – just want to make sure I address everything about the guitar). The jack plate is a gold metal one (common for this era, the black plastic ones broke easily). The stop tail piece is kind of clean so it might be a newer one. No cracks, breaks, repairs or refinishing of any kind. The pickup cavities and the control cavities have a shielding paint added and foil to the back of the control cavity plate. It works, absolutely no humming or buzzing. The guitar weighs 10.3 LBS. I am usually not a big fan of Black Sticker “T” Top Pickups in Les Paul’s but these sound fantastic. No feedback or shallow sound, they are nice and crisp with great bottom. I am a big fan of WRC Pickups and these are very close in tone to WRC Pickups. Great guitar, I know I will miss this one.
