1974 Ibanez "Custom Agent" Les Paul Lawsuit Model

A fantastic Lawsuit model Collector's Item at a bargain price!  Plus there's FREE SHIPPING!

This is the famous 1974 Ibanez Custom Agent Les Paul, made in Japan for less than 2 years (1973 and 1974).  It features a Birch Tobacco Sunburst top over a "sandwich construction" body, very ornate banjo-style mother-of-pearl neck inlays and the famous G!bson "Grecian Urn" headstock inlay, luxurious 7-ply body binding and a Mahogany neck with a genuine Rosewood fingerboard.  With its gorgeous MOP Applique body ornamentation, you can see why Gibson sued Ibanez and forced them to stop making these 38 years ago -- it's nearly identical to a Les Paul in size, feel and weight, but of course much fancier.  Ibanez had to drastically change their headstocks and no longer make a guitar with anywhere near this kind of class.  These have been highly valued collector's items for well over 30 years.

This guitar is all original except for the bridge pickup, which is a vintage 1970's Dimarzio Super Distortion that sounds amazing.  I was playing Les Pauls back then and I always put these pickups in my guitars!  Their fat, smooth and rich sound can't be beat.

This guitar is used and has some dings and dents, mostly on the rear edges, plus light surface scratches.  The blemish that you see on the front (to the left of the applique) was apparently finished over at the factory and still feels smooth.  The worst damage is on the neck binding, some of which has fallen away (see pictures).  I barely notice this when playing the guitar though.  There's also an area where the left side of the fretboard joins the body that shows some separation, though this does not affect the guitar's performance in any way.  You can also see that part of the amazing headstock was once broken off and reglued.  This was a very common problem with this model and I've seen many of them have that piece missing, but not this one.
There is one other change to the guitar's "hardware"; apparently someone cut off and sanded the upper right corner of the pickguard, removing a small portion of it that originally stuck out further.  This was done so well that you might not have even noticed it.  The resulting shape makes it look like a more traditional Les Paul.
This beauty even comes with its Original Les Paul-shaped hardshell case, black with a light gray interior.  All its hinges and latches work perfectly.
I ALWAYS buy insurance for the items I sell (and I think all eBay sellers should do so).  Ground shipping and insurance are FREE in the "lower 48" states of the USA (that is, all states except Alaska and Hawaii).  I WILL ship to Canada but cannot list a fixed shipping cost since some provinces are so far away, so please let me know where you are for an exact shipping price.  Most of Canada would only be about $20 extra.  And I might be able to ship overseas -- let me know your complete address and I'll see what I can do.  Please check my feedback and bid in complete confidence; after eleven years and thousands of transactions on eBay I still have a 100% positive feedback rating, and I'm proud to be a long-time eBay preferred seller with over 3200 positives.
