1987 Gibson Les Paul Custom (Limited Run Edition)

1987 Gibson Les Paul Custom - Special limited production model

Excellent condition

Gibson Serial # 81627600   (June 11, 1987, Nashville plant)

  • Les Paul “Custom” model
  • Gorgeous ornate headstock, white-pearl  bindings, purfling & inlays
  • Large rectangular abalone fret markers
  • “Black Beauty” body w/bright chrome hardware
  • Dual Humbucker pickups
  • Additional “knockout” switch for single coil “Strat” tone
  • Dual Volume controls - single tone blend knob
  • Original Gibson Hard Shell Premium Case

“The
Custom model differs from the Les Paul Standard in many ways. The
cosmetic differences include Chrome hardware , block inlays on the fretboard rather than the
"crown" inlays of the Standard (with an inlay at the 1st fret, whereas
the Standard has none); a "split-diamond" pearl inlay on the headstock;
and multi-ply binding around the body and headstock. The construction
differences are an ebony fretboard which tends to sound "snappier" and
make the fretboard more "slippery," lower frets with more squared off
tops that give the instrument the nickname the "fretless wonder" and
larger round "speed" style knobs (though other knob types can be seen
depending on the year).  "Split Diamond" Inlay on the headstock

Note that what may appear as body mars, are actually just smudges.  The body is essentially unmarred.
